Cora Whalen NeSmith

Cora Whalen NeSmith was born on January 30, 1915 and died June 2, 2006 at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center Inc.

Mrs. NeSmith was a native of Savannah and was a catholic. She was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” NeSmith.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William D. “Danny” and Gail NeSmith and John E. “Eddie” and Jean NeSmith; five grandchildren, Chris NeSmith, Barbara Awad, Marie Elder, Patrick NeSmith and Pamela Olson; thirteen great grandchildren; one sister, Irene Simmons and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Layton and Sybil Plemmons.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 4, 2006 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 Monday, June 5, 2006 at St. James Catholic Church with Monsignor Francis J. Nelson and Reverend P. James Costigan officiating. Active pallbearers will be Patrick NeSmith, Chris NeSmith, Rick Olson, Tony Awad, Josh NeSmith, and Zachariah Awad.

Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
